Arthur the Destroyer
I thought there would be a plethora of posts about Arthur and his naughtiness and sure enough I discovered some this weekend.
The little bugger has been "killing" Keanan's eiderdown. Rather than trying to match the fabric which would have been impossible, I have patched the damaged parts with completely different fabric. And told the boys not to leave the eiderdowns on the bedroom floors. No doubt this is the first of many incidents with Mr Peacock.
Apart from patching the eiderdown, we celebrated Keanan's 10th birthday this weekend. A trip to Pizza Hut with the family on Friday night and his friends over for a DVD and party food on Saturday night.
So not huge amounts of sewing going on. But I have managed to make up some pincushions from a Cath Kidston (talk about hypocrisy!) strawberry print.

There was just enough fabric to make four pincushions.
Each pincushion measures approximately 15am by 9cm and has been stuffed full with polyfill.
I have added a vintage button detail with two felt leaves: one had embroidery embellishment.
And if you fancy one for yourself or as a Mother's Day gift, they are up for sale here.

Arthur the little bugger indeed! YOu didn't tell me what he did to the eiderdown - he is a naughty boy! Do you think the whole thing will be patched in a few months time, hope not! Lovely pincushions and a very cool looking 10 year old

I love the patches. The pin cushions are very cute too. How do you find time? Perhaps the dog will need to keep away from the machine if he continues his rampage!

Arthur Peacock is a fine name for such an excitable little pup - better hide those pin cushions from him - they look mighty tasty..!

I have had to patch the removable covers on my seatee. The dog just seems to make worn holes in it. Each time I've put a patch in a totally different colour/style fabric. In a couple of moths it will end up totally patchwork !

Those pincushions are absolutely beautiful :) Love the vintage button & felt leaf touches. So sweet.
Also wanted to let you know that I'm having a grand contest over at my blog, so if you get a chance, stop on by! :)

Those patches really work on the eiderdown. I love the combination of the different fabrics.
Puppies eat everything, the little bleeders! My babes want one but alas (heavy dose of sarcasm here) I am very allergic!!!
