Just what I've been looking for

This weekend I was Billy No Mates due to the fact that Keanan was playing an away football match and Ethan had gone to watch his friends playing football.  Stephen was in bed - so that meant I was all alone.

So what do you do when you are on your own?  Pop down the car boot sale.  Most times I go without some kind of master pan.  But occasionally there are times when I am looking for something specific.

And I found them this weekend.  The first item I spotted was a child's blackboard - destined for the studio to write my orders etc on.

Chalkboard

This was in pretty good condition and just needed a quick coat of emulsion before it was whiscked away to the studio.  The plan is to cross off the jobs when they have been finished.  Nothing like a kick up the backside to motivate you!

The second find was needed as Keanan keeps coming out to the studio when I'm out there.  There is only one tall stool which means that I often end up standing.  Damn cheek - it is my room after all!

I already have one of these chairs that was a Mother's Day gift from the boys.  I wasn't after an exact match.  It just so happened this chair was there waiting for me and even better only cost me £3.  To top it all off I found a tin of paint in HomeBase reduced to £1.50.  Hence the lavender colour.

Cushion_detail

With all the sitting down I do, I need something nice and soft to sit on.  Being a meanie once again, I already had the cushion pad and cut up a vintage apron that I bought a few weeks ago.  I used the waist tie to tie the cushion to the chair and have backed the cushion with some lemon striped fabric.

No excuse now - back to work for me!

Love it all, especially the chair and gorgeous cushion! what wonderful fabric. I stopped faffing around and have just written a post about my finds too! Right, now I must get back to those kitchen cupboards...

Great finds there. You are so lucky having a car boot sale on at this time of the year - they're still at least two months away in Essex.

Love car boots and really love your blog too. How great to be able to write Liberty at the top of your list! xx

You sound so motivated and creative. Alas my local charity shop was shut when I drove past today. But I did find two 'successful sewing' files at the war on want bookshop. So now if i want to know something about sewing ( I am learning) I have an eighties file to look up! I love the chair, and the cushion. They go really well together.

Those are great finds. Love the chair colour and the cushion...really pretty. There's nothing like finding bargains and recycling...it's so rewarding!

Nothig like a bargin! Love the car bootsales, there is always something there for me! Awesome apron! Just perfect for a busy bottom! lol

just beautiful! i'm loving the chair color!

there is definitely something smug-inducing about finding such fabulous things for so little money-very impressive work!!

Hello, Love the fabric on the cushion, really gorgeous. I too use a blackboard to write orders on - it is really satisfying to be able to put a big tick next to an order once completed!

Just another note that i absolutely love the blackboard!!!

I also wanted to let you know that I'm running a recipe contest on my blog, so stop on by if you get a chance and check it out :)

The chair nd cushion look great and waht bargains.

Hi Samantha,

What terrific finds at the Car Boot Sale. The cushion is wonderful and such a creative use of an apron.

Love the chair and cushion! Another Liberty order? well done! I hope you are well, I've been rubbish at getting in touch recently!

love Claire x

The chair looks lovely painted and the apron works so well as the cushion. I love making things out of something else, not just a plain piece of fabric x

oh to have the word 'Liberty' at the top of a to-do list!!!! I often have it at the top of mine...but that's for shopping purposes only (by the way, I spied a familiar looking pin cushion when I was in last time, and it looked so happy and at home there!)
Lovely car boot purchases, what bargains!!!! :)
