Bargains
Yesterday's thrifty bargains were put to use immediatly.
Straight on was a beautiful Murano glass ring
And a permanent fixture: a cup of tea. I found the mug (which is very reminiscent of Cath Kidston - shame on me after yesterday's post) brand new and still wrapped up in a matching money box/tin
Vintage tray cloth - destined to be cut up and made into something else. Just not quite sure what yet
Vintage Padidngton Bear curtains. These are also going to be cut up and made into something else. I have a few ideas floating around. Plus I just couldn't resist them!
Not bad for a flying visit to a handful of charity shops!

Nice haul, especially the mug. Funnily enough there is a Paddington duvet cover and pillowcase in my local charity shop which I've finally decided I ought to buy for the fabric. Fingers crossed it won't be gone by the time I next go in.

I can't wait to see what you do with the embroidered piece. I have a few handkerchiefs that I bought from a German thrift shop that have small bits of embroidery on them, and I've never quite figured out what to do with them.

love the mug very sweet.(yep you're right very CK but enough said there!!!!! lol). the Duvet is great - I love Paddington bear.
hood on you for the not buying every present and going for handmade/recycled etc. I am determined to make more presents this year and also cut down on waste etc.
Am stuck though for ideas, the presents for girls are fine but I never know what to make for J's male school friends - what do you give 8 year olds who are only interested in football and transformers??????

Sometimes the quick visit yields the best finds. I love the ring and the curtains.
