Belated Thank Yous

This is an overdue post.  Belated thank yous to people who have been kind enough to help me out etc.

Remember, I asked for a copy of the Daily Express last week, as my Washing Up Liquid Aprons were featured?  Well, Maxine was kind enough to send me a copy of the newspaper as well as one of her beautiful handmade cards.

And look what I received in the post from Claire after making her bunting.

These are even more adorable in real life - and they are for sake in her Etsty shop.

After Maxine went to the trouble of posting me the Daily Express article, I am going to share it all with you.

I have to admit that I was a little disapointed that there is no mention of plump pudding anywhere.  But I am not very experienced in this field and did wonder whether I should feel disapointed or if it's just one of those things that happen in business.  But musn't grumble.

Your heading, or maybe it's called a banner, is just so colorful and cheerful and such pretty pincushions

It was a pleasure to help and who knows, it could be the first of many articles & features especially now you're stocked at Liberty's! Well done you.
P.S. Love the new banner

I see you managed to change the header - it's lovely

Samantha - I think it is the difference between being a wholesaler and a retailer - it is the retailer that tends to get the mention in the media (because they are the point of call for the customer)and if it had been your Plump Pudding press release that had been acted on, rather than Mr & Mrs House's then you would be the retailer. Does that make sense? The difference I suppose is if you cross over to become an established brand - like "These new Emma Bridgewater mugs available at the Stone House Gallery" - where there is no chance of confusing the reader as she already knows that Bridgewater is a brand sold in lots of places..
I can see how it is frustrating though,

Love the banner. Congrats on the piece. :0)

love the new banner. It is a shame they didn't mention you in the article.

Hi Samantha, love the new banner, shame you didn't get a mention.Have you thought about sending a sample to Lakeland Ltd,they sell kitchen and homestuff and may be interested in your lovely things.

Well done on getting the order ready - fingers crossed for you - I bet they will love it. I understand what someone wrote about the retailing thing, but I would have been more than a tad miffed if something I had made had been featured in the National press yet hadn't mentioned me in it, but at least all the people who will be contacting the shop to buy them will know you have made it afterwards!

looks like it was Mr and Mrs Mouse who sent the press release to the Express and hence they got the publicity. You can still use it to help you get more wholesale business but if you want people to but Plump Pudding direct from yourself your going to have to send the press releases. Still very well done to be featured in a national newspaper is a great achievement.

Loving the new look of the blog! I agree with the others in terms of the Express quoting who the press release was from, frustrating but I think they are hard work to put together. Good luck with the rest of the Liberty order, and thank you for your comments about our flea market, the next one is Saturday, gulp! Jennifer

I think having the retailer send in your stuff for a press realease is quite encouraging in it's own way!
