There's a moose loose aboot this hoose

Sachet_2

After "Life on Mars" finished the hightlight of my TV week (in fact the only programme I sit down and watch is "The Apprentice"   I also let the boys stay up late to watch this as they watched it and loved it during the Easter holidays.

Stephen had gone out to work and the boys and I were nestled up on the sofa under Keanan's duvet.  I could hear a squeaking noise and rather than leave the sofa ignored it.

After five minutes I heard it again and cottoned on to the fact that Maudie caught a mouse and brought it in through the open window.  Sure enough, I caught her red handed with this poor mouse in her mouth.  I've learnt from past experience that the best strategy is to remove Maudie and then attempt to catch the mouse.  First obsacle was to put a slightly miffed Maudie in my bedroom and shut the door.

After trying for ages, I had to admit defeat, shut Ethan's bedroom door and put a draught excluder in front of it to keep the mouse in.  Of course, I had to let Maudie back out and she was most  un-impressed and kept wandering around looking for the mouse.

The upshot of this is that I have NO idea where this little mouse is now.  I don't think that Maudie found him again - but where he's gone is a mystery.  I'll have to keep my eyes peeled.

Yesterday I mentioned some Thank You gifts that I needed to make.  The photos show them.  Lavender sachets.  I had so much fun making these: dipping into my stash basket, cutting out a small section and sewing it on.  I reached my thank you quota and couldn't seem to stop.  The result is that there are some spare for my shop

Pretty, pretty.

I miss Life on Mars soooo much. It was the highlight of G's and my week too. :-( Still at least Dr Who is back!

Oh no a mouse in the house - same thing happened to us a few weeks ago, I barricaded myself in one room screaming at Michael that we had to move house. Darling cat did it again 2 days later! Lovely sachets - I've left a comment for you on Etsy.

Your lavender sachets are so lovely--they look fresh and I can just imagine the wondrous lavender aroma.

Oh I love snuggling up and watching TV with the boys, we are watching Dr Who, My Family and New Tricks at the moment. Female cats love to bring in live prey I once read that are attempting to teach us how to hunt apparently it's the way they teach their kittens!

When we had mice the mouse man told us that a mouse can squeeze itself through a hole as small as the width of a ball ! The man said ours were feild mice and they nest was therefore outide, they were coming into the house for food, then taken it back out for the mice family to share !! They also nibbled thorugh part of the underneath of my seatee, and a sock that was stuck underneath there. I'm sure yoursa made a quick exsit.

So pretty - especially the lavender stripe.

We had a *moose loose aboot this hoose* last year. What a shock to find my bread burgled, my crackers crunched and my nuts nibbled … I saw the little bugger too, as cute as he was sadly he had to go!

I came out of the bath one night with just a towel around me, noticed the cat "playing" with a mouse, grabbed a pot and lid from the drawer of the cooker, got down on hands and knees, lost the towel completely and keeping the cat away with one hand, crawled around trying to nab the mouse with the pot. Two rooms later, I finally caught the little bugger, but it couldn't have been a pretty picture...nowhere near as pretty as your lavender sachets.

Glad your mouse is gone! They creep me out. I love your sachets with the patchwork, if those are sachets, i think...the combination of fabrics makes me want to dig out some fabric and make something too! :)

Cats bringing creatures in is one thing I could do without. Oskar brings in birds quite a lot. Sometimes he's eaten half of them too! Ugh! Once I found just a pair of legs by the back door. Then he was sick later. Blee!
I love the cat string holder- somehow appropriate on this post! looks just like the mouses tail.

Oh and I gave the patchwork lavender sachet to my sister. It was hard to part with it. She examined and sais "My, she sure does have a lot of patience, what beautiful stitching" so it will be cherished . . .
