The Saga Continues

After my last post about that little mouse, I thought I had better update you.  He is no longer.  Ethan left his bedroom door open and Maudie went in and found the little mouse.  And killed him.  She is so heartless - thankfully Stephen sorted out the "arrangements"

But there is more to tell.  She has truly reached a new level with this mouse massacre.

I cooked a chicken and roast vegetables yesterday.  It ended up not getting eaten as the boys spent the day at my parents and Stephen was in work until late.  I just couldn't be bothered eating it.  After it had coolled it was put into the fridge.

I came in from dropping the boys to school this morning to a tale of woe from Stephen.  He had taken the chicken from the fridge and placed it on the unit.  In the meantime his phone went off and he went into the bedroom to answer it.

In the interim few minutes, Maudie came in from outside and left her contribution to supper on the plate with the chicken and vegetables.  It was a mouse!

Stephen wasn't too impressed.  I couldn't help but laugh.  She loves us.  What more can I say?

No crafting this weekend, but the photos above are of 1950s fabric dollies bought from the boot sale.  They have squeakers that still work in their tummies.  The now sit on the scales in the photo, but on my kitchen windowsill.

The latest edition to my bathroom windowsill collection is this charming vintage print. Just couldn't resist him and managed to slip in onto the windowsill without Stephen noticing!

Those dolls are great and the print is gorgeous too. Glad I'm not the only who has to smuggle things into the house without anyone noticing! Oh Maudie, what can I say!

My cats are always bringing us presents!
I love those little dollies and can never find them anywhere!
The print is so sweet it looks like it's been there for ever no wonder it wasn't noticed xxx

Aww I thought my cats loved me, but they've Never been that nice...
... thankfully

You clever cookie! Wish I managed to do that. Calum notices my every purchase. So much so that I buy things and give them to my mum and sister to give them to me as presents!! Naughty me.

Yes my two feline friends bring in little presents too, though not many lately so maybe they're losing their touch. I love your vintage finds, they look great.

I set my Mice free, I felt bad! those are cute dolls!

Could Maudie come for a visit and catch the mouse who is living in my shed and nibbling the deckchairs??!

Poor Stephen a cat's love can be a bit of a dubious pleasure! My poor husband once woke to find a dead rat carefully arranged around his caraffe of water on his bedside table.

The dolls are cute, but the scales are to die for!

I'm just used to a slight raise of the eyebrows and a sigh of resignation when I return from the car boot. I then have to work out where I can squeeze in my latest purchases. Recently however the great finds have been a bit thin on the ground, I think everybody's looking for the same stuff and at our car boot you have to be there before 7am to get the best bits. Seeing as Sunday is my only lie in with a cup of tea and no children in the bed it's a difficult toss up and quite often the bed wins!

Ps. I love those dolls!

Love the finds! Maudie sounds just like our little Lexie, a right little hunter! Although Lexie has never served up Sunday Lunch yet in our house!!!
