Making up for lost time

Today was the day I promised the boys that we could do what they wanted. After all they had spent 4 days with me at St Fagans trying to enlighten the public that they do want handcrafted quality items - all to no avail.

It was all very straightforward and easy.  After a trip to the hospital for some physiotherapy to help strengthen Ethan's muscle tone, we took a detour into Argos and bought him a gym ball.  He is supposed to spend some time every day sitting on it whilst watching the tv etc.

After that a trip to Toys R Us.  I hate this store with a passion.  A giant supermarket full of plastic and muzac.  The aim was to buy Pokemon cards which have re-emerged again in our house.  Out came the pocket money and we escaped as soon as we could.

The main event was a trip to the swimming pool.  And, a first for the boys, they went in alone whilst I sat on the sidelines watching and reading a magazine and drinking a cup of coffee.  They went in on their own, did what they had to do in the pool, showered and came out to some chips (which of couse is de rigeur after a trip to the swimming pool)!

Magnolia

And to top it all off we stopped at a local charity run place that sells odd bits and bobs that can be used in arts and crafts.  For me: 2 metres of fabric and a fabric sample book.  See those top few photos?

Tulips

And for the boys various oddments of gold card, crepe paper etc.  And then back home.

Cherry_blossom

And miracle of miracles: not a peep out of them all day!

Sounds like you had a good day - toys, swimming and charity shops and you didn't have to get wet! Love the fabric and the flowers.

Sorry it's been awhile since I've popped over to your blog to see what you've been up to. I fly my grandson home tomorrow and then have only 3 DVD's of LOST, season 2 to watch and then life should return somewhat to normal...I sit down at nine after all is said and done and veg out on LOST. Since my birthday on March 24th, I've only had a day and a half without someone here...the family girls (a joy and a laugh), my grandson for four days (a delight every second) and my foster child for respite (rather emotionally draining). Jayne arrives again on Saturday and we're heading to Vancouver on Sunday to pick up her newly adopted puppy (from the same Louisiana high-kill facility that my Casper came from).
Despite the busy days, you're never far from my thoughts.

Sounds like you had a fab day! Such a shame your craft fair wasn't a success, I've been there so many time myself, it's sooooo annoying! Will give you a call once the boys are back to school next week to catch up swap CL stories!

Speak soon,
L xx

Hi, love the fabric - sounds like you had a great day. I used to sell handpainted furniture at craft fairs - they can be so demoralising, especially when someone walks past and says; 'Well I could do that!'

such beautiful blossoms - it's -3 degrees, rainy and grey here so your photos definately brightened my day :)

Stunning flower pics. How awful about the Sf Fagins Craft Weekend. I think probably with St Fagins a lot of people going there wouldn't have realised that there was a craft fair going on, so didn't come prepared with the cash. Your also right it's often the place people go to entertain the kids when your short on cash.

hello again, this blossems are so lovely, What kind is it?? Could you let me know, Thanks!!
