Speedy Gonzalez
Yesterday was the boys' sports day. This meant about 3 hours sitting in a windy field cheering on my boys and friend's children.
Stephen, ever the competitive male had offered the boys a £prize if they or their team won a race. So the pressure was on.
Ethan is competitive to his core and wants to win by fair means or foul. But he was at a slight disadvantage as he forgot ( I ask you - how can you forget?) to put on his trainers. He ran in his school shoes! But despite the handicap, he managed to win the obstacle race.
Keanan came second in the skipping - but his team won. So Stephen has to pay up yesterday. Luckily my only bribe was two packs of football cards each, which are less than £2 for them all!
My disastrous day on Tuesday had an extremely good ending. A car!
My parents bought it for me. Can you believe it?
It is a 2002 Nissan Micra. Much as I enjoyed driving the Jaguar, which really was Stephen's car, the petrol costs were frightening. So much so that I was quite careful driving about. Plus it was an automatic which uses more petrol.
The new car is a little 1L engine - which is more than enough for me. Plus size wise, it will be much easier to nip into parking places in town etc.
I was amazed. My parents are very generous people and always help out my sister and I. But still a new car - Wow!

WOW!! What a lucky duck you are! Well done to the boys.

A car! Well, that's fantastic. And a cute little bright red car it is!

What a cute car! umm... Are your parents looking to adopt a little American girl? I need a new car, too. ;)

Neat! I really like the colour and the dinkiness. I miss dinky English cars :(

A new car! That is generous.
And good on your boys for doing so well. They must have loved having their mum there to cheer them on.

Wow! A new car -- and it is so cute (as are your boys, btw).
Parents can be so awesome sometimes, throwing us back into childhood in moments, even though we are adults.
